Best Extraction Shooters 2026: PC, Console and Mobile

By Brice Laville Saint-Martin, CEO of Antihero Studios

Last updated: October 25, 2026

We believe 2026 is the best year yet to get into extraction games, on PC, on console or on your phone. Here are the ones worth your time as of October 2026. We make one too, so ours comes last, unranked. New to the genre? Start with what an extraction shooter is.

In short

The best extraction shooters in 2026 are ARC Raiders, Escape from Tarkov, Delta Force, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Arena Breakout, followed by Marathon, Call of Duty's DMZ, Escape from Duckov, The Division Resurgence, Dark and Darker and Gray Zone Warfare. Of the top five, Delta Force and Arena Breakout are free to play. On mobile, MISFITZ, our social extraction game, has finished its Alpha, and the Beta is next.

How We Picked

For this list, an extraction shooter is a game or mode where you drop into a map, take what you can and keep it only if you get out alive. We ranked the ones you can play today, flagged those still in early access, and left MISFITZ without a number because we make it.

The order is our honest take on how good each game is to play in October 2026, not a sales chart. PUBG: Black Budget isn't here: Krafton ended its development on 1 October 2026, after two closed alphas. If you only play on your phone, our guide to mobile extraction shooters in 2026 goes deeper.

1. ARC Raiders

Embark Studios' ARC Raiders is the extraction shooter that took the genre mainstream. It came out on 30 October 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as a paid game, and parent company Nexon reported 16.3 million copies sold by the end of June 2026. You face other players and the ARC machines, then try to extract with your loot.

Who it's for: PC and console players who want the genre at its most polished. Its largest update since launch, Frozen Trail, added a new map, Pendola Pass, on 8 October 2026. There is no ARC Raiders on mobile, and Embark hasn't announced one. If that's what you're after, see MISFITZ vs ARC Raiders.

2. Escape from Tarkov

Escape from Tarkov is the hardcore PC extraction shooter that defined the genre. Battlestate Games released version 1.0 on 15 November 2025, on Steam as well as its own launcher, after years in beta. It is a paid game, and it is still PC only.

Who it's for: players who want depth above everything else. Combat is realistic down to bleeding and limb damage, and every raid is, in Battlestate's words, a gamble with death. There is no Tarkov on mobile; for a lighter take on the same loop, see MISFITZ vs Escape from Tarkov.

3. Delta Force

Delta Force, from TiMi Studio Group's Team Jade, is a free-to-play tactical shooter whose Operations mode is a full extraction shooter. It launched on PC in December 2024, on iOS and Android on 21 April 2025 and on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 August 2025, with progress shared across all of them.

Who it's for: players who want serious extraction for free, on any screen. In Operations, your squad takes on bosses and rival squads for loot; Warfare, the 64-player battle mode next to it, is there when you need a break. If you want extraction on PC or console without buying a game, start here. Comparing on mobile? See MISFITZ vs Delta Force.

4. Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is Crytek's bounty-hunting extraction shooter: track a monster, take its bounty and get out alive while other hunters try to take it from you. It relaunched under that name on 15 August 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as a paid game.

Who it's for: players who like slow-burn tension and thick atmosphere. It plays in first person, in the corrupted backwaters of the American West in 1896, and it is still getting updates: the Blood Testament event arrived on 8 September 2026.

5. Arena Breakout and Arena Breakout: Infinite

Arena Breakout is MoreFun Studios' free-to-play tactical extraction shooter, and it comes as two separate games. The original launched worldwide on iOS and Android on 14 July 2023, and Arena Breakout: Infinite brought it to PC, leaving early access on Steam on 15 September 2025. Both are hardcore, realistic and Tarkov-style.

Who it's for: players who want realism and a deep inventory, on a phone or on PC. MoreFun said the mobile game passed 80 million registered users in 2023, and it is still getting new seasons in 2026. If you'd rather have something lighter on your phone, here's our take on an Arena Breakout alternative.

6. Marathon

Marathon is Bungie's extraction shooter, set on the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV. It launched on 5 March 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC as a paid game. Critics liked it, and Bungie is still reshaping it.

Who it's for: players who want striking sci-fi style and don't mind a game in transition. A progression reset, the Nightfall Refresh, went live on 6 October 2026, and Bungie plans its first permanent PvE mode for December in an update called Symbiosis.

7. Call of Duty: DMZ and DMZ: Recon

Call of Duty has two extraction modes. DMZ came back in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a paid game on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, out on 23 October 2026. On iOS and Android, Call of Duty: Mobile has its own free mode, DMZ: Recon, live since 11 December 2025.

Who it's for: Call of Duty players who want extraction stakes. In DMZ: Recon, squads of three fight players and AI, extract to keep what they earned or die and lose it all, and Rebirth Island joined it in April 2026. Here's MISFITZ vs Call of Duty DMZ.

8. Escape from Duckov

Escape from Duckov is a single-player, top-down extraction game where you play a duck. Team Soda made it and bilibili published it on 16 October 2025 for PC and Mac, as a paid game. There are no other players to fear, only AI enemies, so it is the gentlest way into the loop.

Who it's for: anyone curious about extraction who plays alone or doesn't want to be hunted by strangers. It passed a million copies within a week of launch, according to bilibili and Team Soda. Want that loop on your phone, with other people in it? Here's MISFITZ vs Escape from Duckov.

9. The Division Resurgence

The Division Resurgence is Ubisoft's free-to-play, third-person Division game, built mobile-first. It launched worldwide on iOS and Android on 31 March 2026 and on PC (Steam and Ubisoft Connect) on 5 August 2026, with cross-play and cross-progression. Its Dark Zone is a PvPvE extraction mode you can take on solo or with a team.

Who it's for: Division fans who want a big open-world shooter on their phone, with extraction as one part of it. Ubisoft adds new content about every six weeks. If mobile is your main screen, see our list of new and upcoming extraction games on mobile.

10. Dark and Darker and Gray Zone Warfare

Two PC games still in early access round out the list. Dark and Darker, from Ironmace, is a first-person fantasy dungeon crawler with the extraction loop, free to play on Steam since June 2024. Gray Zone Warfare, from MADFINGER Games, is an open-world tactical shooter with PvE and PvEvP modes, in early access since April 2024 as a paid game.

Dark and Darker suits players who want extraction in a fantasy dungeon; it's free to start, and a one-time paid upgrade unlocks the High-Roller dungeons. Gray Zone Warfare suits fans of realistic tactical sandboxes. Its Rogue Ops update moved it from pre-alpha to alpha on 22 October 2026, and Steam now bills it as PvE-first, so it sits at the edge of the genre.

MISFITZ: Our Game, Without a Number

MISFITZ is a social extraction game by Antihero Studios in Barcelona, designed for mobile from day one. It's top-down, with one joystick to move and one to aim plus auto-aim, and runs last 2.5 to 7 minutes. You loot Relics and decide which strangers to team up with, and if you die, you lose what you carried.

We left it unranked because we make it; judge it for yourself. The Alpha is complete, and the Beta is coming free to the App Store and Google Play. The pre-alpha drew 83,500+ players, and it's made by ex-Supercell and King developers who worked on Clash Royale, Brawl Stars and Candy Crush. MISFITZ is for players who want the tension of extraction in a few minutes, with stories that come from strangers.
