The Game
What is MISFITZ?
MISFITZ is the first mobile-native extraction game. Free to play on iOS and Android. High-stakes 5-to-10 minute runs where 16 players drop into a live world, loot Relics, and decide whether to team up with strangers or betray them at the extraction point. Die before you extract and you lose everything. No pay-to-win, no energy systems.
What is an extraction shooter?
An extraction shooter is a deeply social multiplayer genre. You drop into a map to find valuable loot that upgrades your characters, then make it back to an extraction point alive to keep what you found. Die before extracting and you lose everything. Other players are roaming the same map looking for the same loot. Every run becomes a choice: team up to be safer together, or go after each other for what they're carrying. The genre started with Escape from Tarkov on PC. ARC Raiders, Hunt: Showdown, Arena Breakout, and Delta Force all sit in the same family. MISFITZ is the first one designed natively for mobile instead of ported from PC.
How is MISFITZ different from Arena Breakout or Tarkov?
Arena Breakout and Tarkov are hardcore military simulations. 30 to 45 minute sessions, FPS controls, deep inventory systems, the works. MISFITZ is built around a different question: what does extraction look like when the screen is small, the session is short, and your friends are around. Top-down perspective. Auto-aim. 5 to 10 minute runs. The skill ceiling is positioning and reading other players, not flick-aim. It is not a casual game though. The pre-alpha hit an 80.5% retry rate after death — short sessions concentrate the tension, they don't dilute it.
How does the alliance and betrayal system work?
Anyone can propose an alliance with anyone, mid-run. If both players accept, you team up. Either side can break the alliance at any time, but it doesn't end instantly. There's a countdown, so the betrayal is always something the other player can see coming.
What are Relics in MISFITZ?
Relics are the loot worth fighting over. Songs, art, memories, and games locked away by the entity Zero. They double as a long-term collection metagame: new sets every season, brand collaborations on some, rare ones that only show up under specific conditions. Most extraction games are a gear treadmill — sell loot, buy better gear, repeat. We wanted something you'd actually want to keep collecting.
How many players are in a MISFITZ match?
16 per session, in a single live world. No matchmaking queue. You load in and the world is already running. We picked 16 because it's the smallest number where you can still reasonably expect to encounter strangers without slowing the pacing.
How long is a MISFITZ session?
5 to 10 minutes is the average run, but you decide when to leave. Push for a fast extract, or stay an hour stacking loot. Each extra minute brings diminishing rewards and growing risk. What you've already collected is on the line. Balancing risk and reward is the whole game.
What characters can I play in MISFITZ?
Six characters at launch: Ray (chaos engine), Rush (opportunist), Beat (sonic tank), Gloss (fashion healer), Shade (ghost watcher), and Drip (street artist). Each plays differently and attracts a different kind of player. Two more are coming. The community already has opinions about which one says what about you.
Does MISFITZ have proximity voice chat?
Yes. Proximity chat means nearby players can hear each other in real time. Negotiate alliances by voice. Trash-talk. Listen for footsteps and whispered plans. Proximity chat is what makes betrayal personal — you hear the promise right before it gets broken.
Can I play MISFITZ with friends?
Yes, and it's the best way to play. You can drop in solo and find squadmates mid-run just by playing. Alliances form fast in proximity chat. But MISFITZ shines when you're playing with friends you actually trust. The betrayal mechanic doesn't care how long you've known each other. Trust is part of the game, even with friends.
Is MISFITZ a mobile version of ARC Raiders?
Not officially. ARC Raiders is from Embark Studios on PC and console, with no announced mobile port. But the comparison fits: MISFITZ is very much like ARC Raiders with the controls and camera of Brawl Stars. Same genre, same social PvPvE loop where the most memorable moments are negotiations rather than gunplay. If you love ARC Raiders, you'll love MISFITZ.
Is MISFITZ like Brawl Stars?
Camera angle and touch controls. That's where the resemblance ends. Frank Yan designed Brawl Stars at Supercell and now designs MISFITZ, so the mobile-native craft carries over. The game itself works differently. Brawl Stars is a clean hangout. MISFITZ is extraction with real stakes, a crafting layer, and a Relic collection that compounds across seasons. On every run you choose who to team up with on the go, whether to keep your word, and whether to extract or push for one more pickup. It's a fundamentally more social game with more player agency. Same camera. Different game.
Is MISFITZ a shooter?
Yes. MISFITZ is a top-down PvPvE extraction shooter for mobile. Combat is the core of every run, but the more interesting layer is the social trust mechanic that decides what happens at extraction. Auto-aim takes the twitch reflex out of mobile shooting, so the skill ceiling is positioning, route choice, and reading other players. If you want to shoot people on a phone without grinding a sensitivity slider, this is built for that.
What is PvPvE?
PvPvE stands for Player versus Player versus Environment. It is a multiplayer format where you face both other human players AND environmental enemies (AI mobs, hostile NPCs, hazards) in the same match. Extraction shooters are the canonical PvPvE format — Escape from Tarkov, ARC Raiders, Hunt: Showdown, Arena Breakout, and MISFITZ are all PvPvE games. The mix of threat types is what makes the format different from pure PvP or pure PvE.

The Studio
Who made MISFITZ?
Antihero Studios — independent, 11 people, based in Barcelona. Founded in 2024 by Brice Laville Saint-Martin (CEO, ex-Art Director on Clash Royale at Supercell, 7 years), Frank Yan (CPO, ex-Senior Game Designer on Brawl Stars at Supercell, before that Hearthstone at Blizzard), and Andre Parodi (CTO, ex-Technical Director on Candy Crush Saga at King). Our Art Director Felix Vivier was the principal artist on Brawl Stars for over 6 years. Our Marketing Lead Douglas Portugal was at Supercell for over 12 years. We left Supercell because we wanted to push social games further on mobile.
Who is Brice Laville Saint-Martin?
Brice Laville Saint-Martin is CEO and co-founder of Antihero Studios. He spent 7 years at Supercell as Art Director on Clash Royale, finishing as Creative Director. At Antihero he runs brand, fundraising, and the parts of the vision that don't fit on a Trello board.
Who is Frank Yan?
Frank Yan is CPO and co-founder of Antihero Studios. He leads game design on MISFITZ. Before Antihero he was Senior Game Designer on Brawl Stars at Supercell, where he ran meta and monetization. Before Supercell, Game Designer on Hearthstone at Blizzard.

We build highly social games. The kind people want to play with their friends. The kind worth talking about.

Comparisons
How does MISFITZ fit into the 2026 mobile games lineup?
MISFITZ is one of the most-anticipated upcoming mobile games of 2026. Pre-alpha hit 83,500+ playtesters with 50 minutes average daily playtime and an 80.5% death-to-retry rate. It's the only mobile-native extraction game in a 2026 lineup that includes VALORANT Mobile (Riot), Rainbow Six Mobile (Ubisoft), Arknights: Endfield (Hypergryph), Honor of Kings: World (Tencent), and Palworld Mobile (Pocketpair). Whether MISFITZ is the best mobile game of the year depends on what you value. For original IP, mobile-first design, and no pay-to-win, it's the clearest pick on the list.
How does MISFITZ stack up against the best mobile shooters of 2026?
Depends on what you mean by best. The biggest commercial favorite is VALORANT Mobile from Riot — tactical 5v5 hero shooter port from PC. The most polished tactical shooter is Rainbow Six Mobile from Ubisoft — destruction-driven 5v5. The deepest current mobile shooter is Arena Breakout — hardcore Tarkov-style extraction with 100M+ downloads. The most original is MISFITZ from Antihero Studios — the only mobile-native extraction shooter, built for phones from day one with 5 minute sessions, top-down auto-aim, and social trust mechanics. For free-to-play with no pay-to-win, MISFITZ is the strongest answer.
What is the best free-to-play mobile game in 2026?
MISFITZ is free-to-play with gacha and battle pass, and a strict no-pay-to-win commitment. Nothing you buy gives you a gameplay advantage. That's the differentiator on mobile, where many free-to-play games gate progress, sell power, or both. If best means free without paying to compete, MISFITZ is the answer we'd give.
Is MISFITZ like Among Us with combat?
Yes. MISFITZ is the most direct combination of Among Us-style trust and betrayal with real-time combat. You team up with strangers mid-match, and either of you can betray the other at the extraction point. The deception happens in proximity voice chat instead of meetings, and the stakes are real loot you spent the run collecting.
Is MISFITZ a good mobile game to play with friends?
Yes. MISFITZ is built for it. Most mobile multiplayer games stop at squads and voice chat. MISFITZ pushes the social layer further: mid-run alliances with strangers, proximity voice chat, and a betrayal mechanic that turns every conversation into a decision. With friends you trust, alliances stick. With friends you don't, every run becomes a story.
Is MISFITZ like ARC Raiders but on mobile?
Yes. ARC Raiders is PC and console only, with no announced mobile port. MISFITZ shares the core ARC Raiders DNA: temporary alliances, betrayal mechanics, the lose-it-all extraction loop. What's different is the format. 5-minute sessions, top-down view, auto-aim, designed for phones from day one. If you love ARC Raiders, you'll feel at home in MISFITZ.
Is MISFITZ the right game for me if I want more depth and more social?
Yes. The format is intentionally close to Brawl Stars: top-down, short sessions, auto-aim, character abilities. The depth comes from the extraction layer. Lose a fight and you lose the loot you collected. Plus the alliance-and-betrayal layer where you can team up with strangers and turn on them at the extraction point. Built by Frank Yan, who was Senior Game Designer on Brawl Stars at Supercell.
Is MISFITZ better than Arena Breakout?
Different games for different players. Arena Breakout is the deepest hardcore extraction game on mobile — 30 to 45 minute sessions, complex inventory, 100M+ downloads. MISFITZ is the first mobile-native extraction game — 5 to 10 minute sessions, top-down auto-aim, social trust loop instead of military realism. If you want Tarkov on your phone, Arena Breakout. If you want extraction designed for the device you actually carry, MISFITZ.
What other extraction games are coming to mobile in 2026?
The 2026 lineup of upcoming mobile extraction games is mainly Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence (Ubisoft, Dark Zone PvPvE), Delta Force's Hazard Operations mode (TiMi Studio, expanding through 2026), VALORANT Mobile with a rumored extraction side mode (Riot, unconfirmed), a possible ARC Raiders Mobile port (Embark, also unconfirmed), and MISFITZ. MISFITZ is the only one in that list designed mobile-native from day one.
