Best New and Upcoming Mobile Games of 2026

By Brice Laville Saint-Martin, CEO of Antihero Studios

Last updated: October 23, 2026

The best new and upcoming mobile games of 2026 are easy to argue about and hard to rank, so start with who is doing the ranking. Between us we've shipped a few: Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Candy Crush, Hearthstone. We pay attention to this space because it's our space. So here's the version we'd give a friend who asked: what was worth tracking on mobile in 2026, what each one is trying to do, and which one we'd bet on if you put a gun to our head. Refreshed in October, now that most of the slate has actually landed.

In short

Ten mobile games defined 2026, and eight of them are already out, two of those only in China. Rainbow Six Mobile leads the shooter conversation while VALORANT Mobile stays China-only. Arknights: Endfield, Honor of Kings: World, and Neverness to Everness led the open-world RPG wave. MISFITZ is our pick: a social extraction game with runs of 2.5 to 7 minutes, coming free to iOS and Android.

The Shooter Wave

The three mobile shooters we're watching in 2026 are VALORANT Mobile (Riot), Rainbow Six Mobile (Ubisoft), and MISFITZ (Antihero Studios). VALORANT and Rainbow Six bring PC formats to mobile. MISFITZ goes the other way: a format built for mobile first.

VALORANT Mobile

The port everyone's still waiting for. VALORANT Mobile has been live in China since August 2025, and Riot has not announced a date for anywhere else. Riot has a real track record of moving PC games to mobile without losing what made them work, between Wild Rift and TFT. VALORANT Mobile is the harder test. Tactical hero shooters live or die on aim. If touch controls can carry the format, this becomes the default competitive shooter on mobile for the next several years. If they can't, this becomes the cautionary tale everyone cites when explaining why hero shooters don't belong on mobile.

Rainbow Six Mobile

Ubisoft treated Rainbow Six Mobile as a ground-up mobile build, which was the right call, and it landed globally on 23 February 2026 with seven maps and more than twenty Operators. Tactical 5v5 with destructible environments, attacker-versus-defender asymmetry, no respawns. The thing nobody talks about: R6 on PC is one of the only competitive shooters where being slow is rewarded. That patience translates surprisingly well to a format many people play in short bursts on a commute. The format fits.

MISFITZ

Yes, this is our game. We're not pretending otherwise.

MISFITZ exists because we looked at the shooters coming to mobile and noticed most of them were PC formats adapted for it. We wanted to find out what happens if you start with mobile. Runs of 2.5 to 7 minutes. Top-down so your thumbs don't cover the screen. Two joysticks, one to move and one to aim, with auto-aim, so the skill is decision-making more than twitch reflex. Team-ups with strangers sit right next to the Relics and the extraction stakes, because the moments people share from extraction games are rarely just the shootouts. Often they're about who you trusted.

Where we are: the Alpha is complete, and there's no release date yet. The pre-alpha drew 83,500+ players, who averaged 50 minutes a day across 3 sessions, and 800+ creators have enrolled. Free to play, with in-app purchases. Built by people who worked on Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, and Candy Crush. Whether it lands is for players to decide. But for what it's worth, it's a new IP, not a PC franchise brought over to mobile. If extraction is your thing, here's where it fits among the other new and upcoming extraction games on mobile.

The Open-World Wave

The four big open-world mobile games of 2026 are Arknights: Endfield, Honor of Kings: World, Neverness to Everness, and The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. All four shipped in the first half of the year. The pattern: studios who built their audiences on mobile-only formats are now competing with PC-grade open worlds.

Arknights: Endfield

Hypergryph spent years on tower defense and decided to ship an actual 3D RPG. Endfield landed on 22 January 2026 across PC, PlayStation 5 and mobile, off the back of more than 30 million pre-registrations. It is squad combat, exploration, and base-building, with the same character-design DNA that made Arknights a hit. Risk: pivoting genres rarely works. Reward: when it does, you keep the old audience and add a new one.

Honor of Kings: World

Tencent took the most-played MOBA on Earth and turned it into an open-world RPG. Honor of Kings: World launched in China in April 2026, PC first and mobile a week later, and there is still no global date. The production values look closer to a console game than a mobile one. The open question is how it will be tuned for players outside China, whenever a global version gets a date.

Neverness to Everness

The most stylish-looking game on this list, out worldwide since 29 April 2026. Hotta Studio (Tower of Fantasy) doubled down on anime urban fantasy with city-life systems and supernatural combat, and it worked: Perfect World reported more than 2 billion RMB in cumulative player spending by August. The art direction alone was enough to put it on the watchlist.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

Netmarble leaned hard into anime open-world ARPG with story-driven content. It slipped from January to March 2026 and reached mobile on 23 March. Genshin showed that this format works on mobile when the writing is good. The format is settled; the writing is what will decide how far it goes.

The Wild Cards

Three more mobile games of 2026 are worth tracking: Palworld Online (Garena's mobile MMORPG in the Palworld universe), Pokémon Champions (PvP-only competitive battler), and SEGA Football Club Champions (deep football management sim).

Palworld Online

Worth being precise here, because there are two Palworld projects for mobile. Krafton's PUBG Studios, the team behind PUBG: Black Budget, has been making a Palworld mobile game since it licensed the IP in 2024. Separately, Garena announced Palworld Online in August 2026, a mobile MMORPG set in the same world, made under license from Pocketpair and due before the end of the year. Pocketpair itself took Palworld out of early access on PC and console in July 2026. The bet is that the audience already exists. The risk is that a survival sandbox and an MMORPG want different things.

Pokémon Champions

Pokémon stripped down to just the competitive battles. No exploration, no story, just team-building and ranked matches. It hit Switch in April 2026 and mobile in June, with cross-platform battles between the two. For competitive players this is the dream. If you're in it for the adventure, the mainline games are still where that lives.

SEGA Football Club Champions

A football management sim with depth in a category dominated by arcade-style matches, out worldwide since 22 January 2026 off the back of two million pre-registrations. SEGA bet that there's a niche of players who want strategy over reflexes on mobile. Niche bets sometimes age very well.

Our Pick If We Had to Choose One

Our pick is MISFITZ (we're biased, and we said so). The biggest is Honor of Kings: World. The one most likely to win commercially, whenever Riot brings it to the rest of the world, is VALORANT Mobile.

If you want the most polished AAA experience, Rainbow Six Mobile and Arknights: Endfield are the safe picks (VALORANT Mobile and Honor of Kings: World too, if you're in China). If you want something new (an extraction game in runs of 2.5 to 7 minutes, designed for the device you actually carry), that's us. We'd rather build something new than chase the safe bet, even knowing the safe bet usually wins. If you're picking for a group, start with our list of mobile games to play with friends.

One thing to flag about lists like this: they tend to reflect what's confirmed and comfortable, not what's actually new. The biggest games of 2026 are the ones above. The most interesting games of 2026 are usually the ones that don't make any list.
