Best Mobile Games to Play With Friends in 2026

By Brice Laville Saint-Martin, CEO of Antihero Studios

Last updated: October 25, 2026

The best mobile games to play with friends in 2026 are Brawl Stars, Stumble Guys, Among Us, Pokémon UNITE, Call of Duty Mobile, MISFITZ, Genshin Impact (co-op) and Marvel Snap. Each game here made the list because playing together changes the game, not just who is sitting next to you. Plenty of multiplayer mobile games play much the same whether your friends are online or not.

In short

Brawl Stars is still the canonical mobile group hangout. Among Us and Goose Goose Duck own social deduction. Pokémon UNITE is the surprise serious-team option. MISFITZ, the social extraction game by Antihero Studios, is the new entry, coming free to iOS and Android: extraction with mid-run alliances, which makes a run with friends play very differently from solo queue.

The Group-Hangout Tier

Brawl Stars

Live worldwide since December 2018, with three-minute matches and dozens of characters. Brawl Stars is the closest thing mobile has to a default multiplayer hangout. If a group of friends has not played a mobile game together before, this is what to start with. The matches are short enough that nobody feels stuck, the format is forgiving, and you do not need much coordination to have fun. Solid pick for casual groups and big age ranges. If you are hunting games like Brawl Stars with extraction stakes, the comparison is worth a read.

Stumble Guys

A Fall Guys-style party platformer on mobile. Big lobbies, physics chaos, no real coordination required. You die, you laugh, you queue again. Stumble Guys is best for groups that want background-friendly fun rather than focused gameplay. Good if half your friends are bad at games and the other half do not care.

Among Us

Still the canonical social deduction game. Among Us plays best with five or more friends in voice chat. It works with strangers, but it really shines with a group that knows each other. Goose Goose Duck takes the same idea in its own direction, with a big cast of roles, if your group wants something new. If you would rather have action than meetings, we also have a guide to mobile games like Among Us with combat.

The Serious-Team Tier

Pokémon UNITE

Underrated. UNITE is a real 5v5 MOBA with actual strategic depth, dressed in Pokémon. With a coordinated group on voice, Pokémon UNITE is one of the most rewarding competitive mobile games out there. Solo queue is rougher. If you have four friends who will commit to a series of matches, this becomes the best option on the list.

Call of Duty Mobile

Standard squad FPS. Modes for everything (TDM, Battle Royale, Search and Destroy), and since December 2025 an extraction mode too, DMZ: Recon. Call of Duty Mobile is good for groups that want a familiar shooter experience without learning a new format. It is the most familiar format on this list, and very reliable. If your group is torn between its modes, here is how extraction differs from battle royale.

MISFITZ

Full disclosure: this is our game.

MISFITZ is on this list because the friends-vs-strangers split is more pronounced here than in the other entries. In MISFITZ, your squad of friends shares the same run with strangers who can propose alliances and then break them. Extraction is high-stakes (lose the run, lose the loot), so the moment a stranger asks to team up with your squad becomes a real decision: do we let them in, do we shoot them, do we play along until we reach the extraction point. Here is what playing with friends looks like in MISFITZ, from the lobby to spectating a run.

Runs of 2.5 to 7 minutes keep the rhythm fast for groups, and 83,500+ players joined the pre-alpha. MISFITZ is coming to the App Store and Google Play, free to play.

The Hangout-While-You-Play Tier

Genshin Impact (co-op)

Open-world RPG with drop-in co-op. The co-op mode is more "we are in the same world doing things while talking" than a real party-based game, but the world is enormous and the visuals are good. Genshin Impact co-op is best as a parallel-play option: you and friends doing your own things in the same instance. A lot of Gen Z social gaming looks like this.

Marvel Snap

Three-minute card battles, played live one-on-one, with Friendly Battles to challenge a friend directly. The meta-game with a Discord group is excellent too. Share decks, screenshot wins, debate which cards are broken this season. In Marvel Snap, a lot of the social layer lives around the matches, which suits some groups better.

Which Mobile Games Have the Best Social Features?

The mobile games with the best social features are the ones where other players change what you do. In Among Us and Goose Goose Duck, the talking is the game. Pokémon UNITE rewards a team that coordinates. In MISFITZ, any player can propose an alliance mid-run, and either side can break it. Brawl Stars is still the easiest way to get a whole group playing. Friends lists, chat and emotes help, but they don't make a game social on their own.

We think "social" gets used loosely in mobile games. A friends list is a feature; a game is social when the people in it change how you play. That's the test behind this list, and it's the one we hold our own game to: in a MISFITZ run of 16 players, the strangers you meet matter as much as the loot, and players on iOS and Android share the same runs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best mobile game to play with friends?

For most groups starting out, Brawl Stars. For groups that want depth, Pokémon UNITE. For groups that want social drama and high stakes, MISFITZ. For pure chaos, Stumble Guys. The right pick depends on what your group is actually after.

What is the best free mobile multiplayer game?

Brawl Stars, Pokémon UNITE, Among Us, Stumble Guys, and Genshin Impact are all free to play, and MISFITZ is coming free to iOS and Android. For more of this year's standouts, see the best new and upcoming mobile games of 2026.

Are there mobile games with proximity voice chat?

A few, but fewer than you would think. Most mobile multiplayer games either have no voice chat or use party-only voice (your group hears each other, strangers do not). Proximity voice (where nearby strangers can hear you) is rare on mobile, and it changes how groups play. MISFITZ has no voice chat right now, though we plan to add it later. Here is which mobile games with proximity chat really have it, and which only ship squad voice.

Which multiplayer mobile games work for both casual and serious players?

Brawl Stars comes closest: its three-minute matches are forgiving enough for a casual group, with plenty of depth once your group gets competitive. If your group is split, Stumble Guys covers the casual nights and Pokémon UNITE the serious ones. MISFITZ sits in between: runs of 2.5 to 7 minutes are quick to pick up, and losing your loot when you die keeps every run tense.

Which mobile games are best for team-based matches?

Pokémon UNITE for 5v5 strategy with a coordinated group, Brawl Stars for quick three-minute team matches, and Call of Duty Mobile for squad shooting in modes like Team Deathmatch and Search and Destroy. In MISFITZ, your squad shares each run with strangers, so the teams can change mid-run.

Which multiplayer mobile games have fast matchmaking?

Short formats get you back into a game fastest: Brawl Stars matches and Marvel Snap battles last about three minutes, and in Stumble Guys you die, laugh and queue again. MISFITZ has no matchmaking queue at all: each run is a live world of 16 players that is already running when you load in.

Which mobile games have the best replayability with friends?

The ones where other players make every game different. Among Us is a new set of lies every round, and in MISFITZ every run brings different strangers and different deals. Brawl Stars keeps things fresh with dozens of characters to master.

MISFITZ

Better With Friends, Different With Strangers

Extraction runs of 2.5 to 7 minutes. Mid-run alliances. Bring a squad. Or not.
